CFP was commissioned by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council to co-ordinate the development stage works at the Grosvenor & Hilbert Park (including Hilbert Woods LNR) following a Round 1 pass from HLF totalling £2.2 million. The role included co-ordination of landscape architects, architects and specialist survey work. As part of this process we were responsible for overall cost control and reporting progress to the Project Board.
We were also responsible for the planning and delivery of consultation and engagement activities and the production of all supporting information to accompany the master plan and design drawings. This included the Activity Plan covering audience development, interpretation, volunteering and training and learning opportunities.
CFP was reappointed in January 2014 to project manage the delivery stage works which were completed in June 2016. The capital works were delivered within budget and the park is now proving to be a massive draw for visitors. Activities and events continue to be delivered and the volunteer contributions are exceeding the ambitious targets set at Round 2.
The success of the project has been recognised with the park achieving the Green Flag Award in Summer 2016 and a British Association of Landscape Industries Award followed soon afterwards.
