The Background
Community Spaces is a £50m national programme to enhance quality of life through neighbourhood green and open spaces.
The programme is designed to build the capacity of local communities through enhancing green spaces and local facilities and CFP have been heavily involved.
The Objective
Working closely with Groundwork UK and the Civic Trust, we have contributed to the programme through recruitment, selection and training of facilitators, organising communication and networking events, writing programme materials and constructing a resource directory for facilitators.
Two of our team have also been successful in becoming facilitators for the programme giving us an insight at all levels.

Our knowledge not only of green spaces but also of the community and voluntary sectors has meant we were the ideal team to work on this programme.
The Result
Our initial work was so well received that we have been asked to contribute to the design of the application process for the large and flagship aspects of the programme.
