The Background
CFP were appointed to work with the London Borough of Hillingdon to carry out an assessment of open space supply and demand within the local authority area.
The Objective
To undertake an Open Space Study looking at the quality, quantity and accessibility of all open space across the borough to inform the development of local standards and the Local Development Framework.

CFP used their understanding of the strategic planning of open space to review earlier work undertaken by the authority to establish the supply and demand for green space, advise how gaps in existing data could be addressed and gather addition data.
The Result
A draft open space strategy containing local standards for the quantity, accessibility and quality of spaces across the Borough has now been produced. The strategy sets out a way forward for the next fifteen years to safeguard open space and bring all publicly accessible spaces up to the equivalent of Green Flag standard.
