Places for People - Evaluation Research
The Client
Registered social landlord Places for People and partners The Peabody Trust and Riverside Housing Group.
The Background
CFP to were appointed to carry out a quality assessment of 23 green spaces across the country. These greenspaces form part of a portfolio of 75 greenspaces associated with social housing that will receive £15 million investment funded through BIG.
The Objective
To establish baseline data about the quality of the spaces within the Green Spaces for People Programme using the Green Flag Award criteria. The process will be repeated following the delivery of the capital improvements to establish effectiveness of the programme.
Just add CFP
CFP used their detailed understanding of the Green Flag Award criteria to apply this to green space in a social housing context. We also carried out a review of the wider applicability of this methodology and how the Green Flag Award may develop and contribute to the Neighbourhoods Green agenda.
The Result
Following delivery of the capital works, repeat visits are being carried out to establish the change from the baseline data. Early analysis shows that the schemes have achieved much higher quality spaces that are used and valued by residents.
