The Background
The Council and The Holburne Museum (based in the gardens) had been discussing the restoration of the gardens for some time. The site is nationally important for a number of reasons and contains a wealth of historic features dating back to its heyday as a Georgian Pleasure Garden.

The Objective
CFP were asked to help bring together a Round 1 application to the Parks for People programme working closely alongside the council and museum staff.

The work includes reviewing previous studies, coming up with an agreed master plan, stakeholder consultation and engagement plus developing initial ideas on activity and management planning.

Our challenge is to develop a scheme that will not only appropriately restore the gardens but will also meet the wider programme outcomes that are more people centred. Our experience of community engagement, volunteering and in animating green spaces will help to create a truly unique bid.

The Result
Watch this space, the target is to make the bid in August 2011.
