CFP were commissioned by Dudley MBC in December 2011 to project manage the development stage of Round 2 HLF submission for Mary Stevens Park, the premier park in Stourbridge.
As well as being project managers we undertook a significant amount of community consultation and stakeholder liaison as well as feeding into the development of the activity plan. Through our works with stakeholders we secured significant amounts of support for the project which has in turn led to new volunteers coming forward. We also led on all aspects of monitoring and evaluation for the project.
We successfully delivered the development stage and the Round 2 award was granted in July 2013. CFP were then successful in winning the project management role for the delivery stage.
Our role as project managers is to co-ordinate landscape architects, conservation architects, hydrologists, ecologists and engineers, working with the local authority client team and Heritage Lottery Fund. CFP are responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination of these disciplines and project governance, reporting to the Project Board.
We have also continued our work around communication and awareness raising including setting out a communications plan, a FAQ sheet, developing a new project web site, developing a project e-zine, close liaison work with the Friends group, local township council and other community based organisations. We have also provided support to volunteers before the ranger is in post. Through this we have helped to design and produce a series of temporary interpretation boards for the project.
