Described as a ground breaking piece of research, the nationally important State of UK Public Parks research has shown just what CFP can deliver. We lead on two of the three primary research strands, designing and delivering both a local authority parks managers survey and also the survey of friends, user and community groups across the UK.
We also worked very closely with organisations such as Natural England, APSE, GreenSpace Scotland, Keep Britain Tidy and the National Federation of Parks and Green Spaces to examine existing data sets, to promote the surveys and to link our work to other ongoing research.
The work brought together our research and analysis skills with our in depth knowledge and experience of the sector. It further demonstrated our ability to handle complex data sets with over 400 responses to the friends survey and over 140 to the parks managers survey. We also carried out a detailed review of existing data sets to establish their relevance and also their quality.
We worked closely with Peter Neal Consulting and the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) on the design of the surveys and the interpretation of the results leading into the final report production.
