CFP were commissioned to assist the Lead Landscape Team and Hull City Council in the refinement of the Activity Plan for their Round 2 HLF Parks for People bid submission for the Pearson Park – The People’s Park grant award.
CFP worked alongside the Project Officer to produce a final Activity Plan for Pearson Park which focused on attracting more diverse audiences into the park to engage in different activities and incorporated the Hull City of Culture 2017 events programme.
The team at CFP undertook detailed and comprehensive demographic analysis of Hull and used audience analysis tools to help identify the types of audiences in the area and therefore what activities might be likely to be successful for inclusion in the plan.
We also responded to feedback from a variety of surveys including targeted online and on and off-site visitor surveys and stakeholder consultation in designing the programme for events and assessed how to best use the multitude of buildings in the park including a community hub, bowling club, bandstand and conservatory.
CFP also assisted with the creation of a job description for a CHER / (Community, Health Engagement Ranger) role and produced a detailed cost plan and timetable for all activities and events and staffing costs for the delivery phase of the project.
Outcomes and Results
Further research and consultation was carried out by CFP and the Council and the Activity Plan was rewritten in time for the Round 2 submission. The Council have since been awarded a grant of £3.05 million by HLF.
CFP have been further commissioned to assist with further development of the Activity Plan and assisting the CHER with the implementation of the plan once appointed.
